We Are Nashville is the 2021 Midsouth Regional Emmy® Award Winner! This incredible video project was inspired by the events of 2020 and a desire to unify us as a Nashville community. Led by Titus Underwood and Bryson Finney, this collaboration involved the Nashville Symphony, the Nashville Symphony's Accelerando students, Metro Nashville Schools, Voices of Vision Community Choir, and the Nashville Ballet.
Initiated and designed by Weston Sprott and Titus Underwood in partnership with Sphinx Organization, the Sphinx Orchestral Partners Auditions (SOPA) Excerpt Competition provides Black and Latinx orchestral musicians the unique opportunity to audition for a panel representing several orchestras seeking to identify musicians for invitation to auditions, pre-advancement at auditions and/or placement on substitute player lists. The panel will include excerpt competition judges who will select outstanding performances as winners of cash prizes ranging from $250 to $3,500. Winners were announced on Monday, February 22nd, 2021.
